    Its possible he BIOS was slightly damaged, but sometimes simply resetting it back to defaults, removing the battery ( and power) will also sort out a unstable BIOS setting.

    Keep an eye on any troubles though, BETA means
    A beta BIOS is an update that may improve a motherboard's performance or resolve a severe problem but has not yet undergone thorough testing.
    . If you lookup BETA BIOS -- You'll find almost everywhere says don't do it, use the finalized one.

    I was using the latest, finalised version.

    Do I need to flash back to the finalised version?
