I need to view and edit PDF files.
Due to changes in my situation and finances I am looking for a free one. I have searched and cannot find any.
Does anyone know of any?
Many thanks in advance.

Awesome, thank you.
I don’t know how my searching came up with all the rubbish I got!

To what extent do you want to edit ?
Meaning simply able to type text in or remove text, pictures etc ?
If you have Office 365 Or some of the free office programs you can open PDF files and convert /edit them.
The supplied google link -- The wording is not to good -- There are MANY (read as 99% ) of programs including PDF that are "Free to Download" BUT they are NOT free to use.Uploading Any Document to a online place means if you have sensitive or private data - congrats you have just given some unknown people your documents.= Dangerous
Thats how lots of places "get Ya"
Some Free to downloads are only trials and you need to pay $$ to actually use them. Most will read and print PDF's, BUT to actually edit them - get the Credit Card out(Depending as asked in 2nd line of this reply)

oops double posted.
I just need to fill out forms, applications etc.
I’m very careful with programs I download. In my case online editing is fine, no secrets will be typed online. I tried a 'free' program and it’s as you say, asking for $$. The online one I chose seems to be fine.
Appreciate the info though.

Heres a couple I use.
1. Softmaker FreePDF, You have to register but thats nothing. https://www.getfreepdf.com/en/download
Just a quick example - select the Text Tool - Now imagine there's a line there you need to enter details:
Another is Nitro Free ( it can be a little of a dance to get the real free one) so I've uploaded both the X86 & x64 in a zipped file.
You can download them both from HERE
The biggest problem is managing to get the Text Box ( both Create) lined up with what ever you are filling out.
You can also add in a hand signed signature if you want to Documents. You Sign your Signature, Scan and crop it to fit, some editing programs can make the background Transparent ( different post on that) , then using the various options like quick Sign (nitro) or Object-Image - Your Sig ( FreePDF) drop it on the signature line/area.

Geeze, there’s just no end to your help! Thanks so much.
Now of course, I just have to choose which one...

Had you asked me about 2 Months ago I would have said Nitro, But after using the FreePDF I find its a bit easier in positioning where you want to write / fill out some text. The more I use it the more I like it.
Just personal choice really -- Or get both and try them, after all they are free![]()
