I still having problems with my lappy.
Went to HP & it said they had a recall for batteries.
I'm not up to spending time on the phone & thought it best to email them.
Googled it but no help so far.
Does anyone know if they have email support?

I've emailed, my computer guy...
Update / Upgrades = Replace old bugs with new ones.
Didnt hear back from him & also approached 2 others.
Seems no one wanted the job.
I'm not well enough to do it..

For the batt recall

Theres an email link on the LHS . Its web based email.
Alternatively , go to a authorised HP Repair centre . It wont be cheap. It may not be worth it .
Or , send the laptop up to these guys. Ring them first , tell them you arnt in Ak . They are very good .

My suggestion, going from the other thread.
Dont start haggling part costs with your IT support. And dont tell them what the part costs , unless you are willing to buy that part yourself & take the risk when it
doesnt fix the issue or doesnt fit .
Something like this can quickly become more trouble than its worth for repairers . A new batt doesnt allways fix the issue , and costs then start to escalate ( from experience ).

Forgot about Tech Central, ( but this thread was mentioning own IT guy) they can tell you exactly whats wrong and the cost to repair it.
From memory they may charge an inspection fee, but no obligation to repair if its to expensive, that way you don't run the risk of buying unwanted / nonreturnable parts.
As 1101 pointed out about haggling part costs with your IT support -- Had people say along the lines of "I can buy it from {insert place} cheaper" than what I could provide -- my reply is -- fine go ahead, but remember if it doesn't work / fit its your money that's down the drain.

Tauranga ?
google Tauranga laptop repairs / Plenty to choose from. You'll find someone who will do the job.
Replacing the batt doesnt allways fix the issue though.
Ive had that a few times, I then have a batt I cant return and a far more expensive repair , then Customer cancels the job due to escalating costs .
That why some repair techs see this as not worth it for them.
Keep ringing around , you'll find someone local who will do it.
Thanks.
I'll follow through & advise
