Default Re: Windows 10 AntiVirus Protection

I used AVG Clear to uninstall AVG from my Toshiba laptop but now when I start up I get two blue windows - for Windows 10 and the other for AVGClear Uninstall.
I click on the Windows 10 window and it starts up ok.
I want to get rid of the AVG Clear but can not find it anywhere and it is not in the Programs folders.
    Any suggestion?

You'll nee to delete the actual file, clean out temp files, and then press the Windowskey +R , type in msconfig Select the boot tab, right click AVG Clear - Delete ( or left click to highlight AVG Clear - Delete.

Make SURE you select the right one as the other will leave you with an unbootable system.

After reading this thread, I am now keen to get Nod32. The price is VG at $75 for two devices for two years. However is the $75 American dollars?

Go to the NZ site https://www.eset.com/nz/

Theres two types, Nod32 antivirus - Straight AV, or Internet Security - Nod32+ Firewall + all the bells and whistles.

Many thanks, wainui, have gone there and the basic Nod32 antivirus will cost NZ$154 for 2 devices for 2 years, which I am now pondering on. Actually I cannot understand that US$75 translates to NZ$115, then add $17.25 for GST = NZ$132.25 --- it is therefore dearer here than in the US? Seems bizarre!

Lots of thing are more expensive here, not uncommon at all. Ink , software , hardware ....

Even buying direct , as soon as you choose NZ , the price can bump up compared to US.

PBTech sells NOD32 cheaper (or used to) , they may not be an Offical NZ partner though .

Follow-up on the post above - I talked with Eset re the pricing and they basically said that's just the way it is, it can be cheaper in some countries than others. Saw your post 1101 just after, so to add again - I have checked with PB Tech online and their prices are much the same. Thanks anyway!

Maybe someone who uses it can confirm but their multi device package for up to 5 devices looks like a much better deal than buying 2 licences. Assuming all 5 devices can be PCs then especially so.

It is cheaper, as it says 5 devices ( I know I sell it)
