Just in case anyone is thinking that I'm not romantic here's one of my favourite songs and also a tribute to Ric Ocasek who died last month:

    Shame she lost her job.
It was the shock of her amswer that bothered me. She could hav just soid "NO". The implication to me was that if a will was in her favour she would marry me. Why? No Love in sight. I cannot imagne marrying some lady without love for each other being the prime motive.
Incidentally Iaskd the caregiver ofice if I could change my caregiver because I was getting strong felings towards her. Apparemntly not unusuaal with onely old men. She was very sorry to hear my problem & I got someone else. She did NOT lose a job,but moved on to another needy customer. PJ
    Deafness.
When I was younger I heard but didn't listen.
Now I am older, I listen but cannot hear.

If it is not broke, don't make it broker by trying to make it better. (This applies specifically to PJ)

Lets face it, those girls are not marrying for love, only for a better life. I dont blame them. Not easy to fit into a Kiwi lifestyle no way of knowing how you will be treated. PJ
Yes, I'am also amazed at your courting techniques.
I'ts a wonder she did not slap you.
I would asked her to dinner, or asked if she liked movies, or asked what she did in her spare time.

Sorry, had to read that twice for a minute I thought it said another seedy customer.
Not to be rude, but remember they are there doing a job. They have to, and should be, nice. Doesn't mean they are all in love with their clients.

Mum's carer in the old peoples' home was of Asian extraction, probably Filipino, she was uppity, often ignored Mum's button pushes, performed tasks begrudgingly and in the end we think she took some money out of a drawer.

Mum was a difficult person to deal with especially as she aged and was having T.I.A's but still surely that's what the job is about dealing with cantankerous older people.

Actually I wasn't impressed by any part of the home Mum was in, both the facilities and things like the air conditioning were deficient as well as the service in general, I wouldn't advise anyone to go into a home based on my experience with Mum and the new modern home she went into.

Leave going into one as long as possible and stay in your own place for as long as you can.
