    Default Music Question

    Hi All.
Is it easy to change wma to mp3? Thanks. PJ
    Deafness.
When I was younger I heard but didn't listen.
Now I am older, I listen but cannot hear.

If it is not broke, don't make it broker by trying to make it better. (This applies specifically to PJ)

Generally not recommended, changing between lossy formats looses quality every time you do it. But yeah it's easy and there are many programs that will do it for you.
If you have the option to rip from CD again just re rip them. If not then try VLC as Piroska suggested https://www.vlchelp.com/convert-audio-format/

I have used Format Factory for many years now (available from https://formatfactory.en.uptodown.com/windows/download )

It will convert WMA to MP3 and many more different conversions, is very user friendly, and free.

The original developer (pcfreetime) seems to have left the building but that does not mean that the software functions any worse.

True MP3 is a lossy format but for many uses, that is not a significant issue. When used for mobile purposes, e.g. in-car, outdoors, etc, there will always be a certain amount of background noise anyway so the benefits of perfect high fidelity would be lost in any case. And you can fit a lot more MP3 music on your phone if you want a playlist that will last from one end of the country to the other and back again without repeating tracks.

    .
You need a GOOD anntivirus if you install that Format factory, it contains PUPS which need to be stopped, as well as malware. It also installs some other rubbish at the end unless you untick the pre-ticked box.

You should be able to do that with VLC. For multiple files you can write (read: copy, paste, edit, save) a batch file to do multiples for you.
