Snap!! John, exactly the same, Fractured Inferior Pubic Ramus. Known as the "bikie fracture" in the profession due to middle aged men riding "big grunters" in search of their lost youth. (Perhaps "snap" is not a good word in this case)

Glad to see that I am not being a wimp with the pain. I also am comparing it to passing kidney stone pain (I've had 3) although kidney stone problems can usually be solved with lashings of morphine and 12hrs sleep. This thing, will be a long slow recovery at my age, the doctors told me.

Hi Ken. Hope you heal quickly. I am 85 and my balance is terrible, I dare not climb a ladder. I keep trying to do relatively easy tasks, and end up in trouble, a few weeks ago I got under my car to check the transmission drain plug. I managed to get out from under the car, but couldn't stand up, 2 sore hips and a knee prevented it. I had to crawl from the car to the fence, and managed to pull myself up.

Ken, I have never lived down what happened when I got home from hospital. SWMBO said she would make up a bed for me downstairs, but I insisted on being in our bed upstairs. Only way to get up there was for us to sit on the stairs (ouch) with Herself on the step above me pulling me up step by step (ouch x # of steps). Of course She put her back out as a result of my selfish pig-headedness. It is a matter for my eternal shame, as I am periodically reminded. Usually in front of other people. Well deserved though.

mzee and John... I am so happy to see that I'm not the only silly beggar in the world. The laugh I have just had was worth the pain

My mum had kidney stones once. For months. Doc came up with all sorts of stupid diagnosis, inc flu.
She saw another eventually and he told her to go to the hospital immediately as they were large.

    She didn't.

She said eventually she passed them.

    Typical of my mum.

Not long before we moved here, she stepped off the front deck, a fair drop...onto concrete.
    She's 87, 86 at the time.
Had a sore shoulder she said.
Eventually made her go to doc and she had ripped her muscle off the bone on shoulder.
She insisted no surgery and had steroid injections for a while.

At least now she isn't doing much, she was always falling and damaging herself before.

So I'm thinking of starting Zumba classes for all F1 members.
Either that or some mountain climbing
    Or Skateboarding lessons

    Nothing too strenuous.

I notice I am not as supple as I once was either.
It takes longer to get up and down. (from anywhere)
So what colour is your Adkaf?

It's the little grunt you give when you get up from your tv chair that gives you away...
