    Default Windows 10 1903 update

    I have an ASRock 970 Pro3 R2 MOBO with FX6300 CPU and 8GB.
It has given exceptional reliability, but now stalls update to latest release 1903; gives the message "will not install as there may be a later driver than the one Windows is trying to install." Eventually I may be in trouble for support.
I have done a Bios flash (successfully), so this is not the advice I am seeking.
    Wainui will know the answer?.
    Thanks, Trevor (retired Tekkie)

You could download the ISO from the media creation tool. Burn it to a DVD and upgrade from it.

Thanks Wainui, it is not saying what.
I suspect it might be something like a third party PDF creator driver (Omnipage) I have used to enable my old flatbed Canon 80 scanner to work with Windows 10.
Just wondering if anyone else had encountered this response and if so had found a way forward.

The 1903 update is a total disaster with older machines. I have found version 1803 to be trouble free, stick with it. If you have Windows 10 Pro you can turn off auto updates in 'group policy'.

Nope, not any more. That setting gets ignored , cant be relied on.
Thats why some are going to more extreme lengths to try & turn them off
MS is closing off all the easy ways users were finding to disable updates

"With the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition, Microsoft has once again removed Group Policies and registry tweaks on Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home to protect Windows Updates from being disabled,"

Hmmmmmmm Without knowing what drivers causing it there could be a problem, ( whats ya guess at lotto like) thats what I would comapre it to.

What you can try - open Update and Security - Troubleshoot - Windows Update - run it see if it gives any clues.

Or / And Windows updates - under Check for updates -- Update History, there should be a failed entry, click it and see if it gives any details. (Cant be sure on that, just looked on 5 different computers - None have any failed or error updates to check)

    Thanks folks.
I have not experienced age related problems with any of the Laptops and P Cs I have updated, recently, to latest version 1903 of Windows 10-
In fact, this machine is the newest one I currently have here.
The download error report gives 0x80240035, and was the reason for redoing the AMD stuff.
Microsoft suggest a number of their standard replies to a number of disparate download issues, but I hate making stuff-ups with registries.
Appreciate the free consultation Wainui, have been a fan of your postings for a long time.
