    Default New scams!

The scams are coming thick and fast - and new!
We put new carpet down a few months back from Harrison’s and last week got an email saying it was from them with the heading “Order Confirmation” - was about to open it then deleted it - see attached screen shot. Then the next day an email from Harrison’s saying apologies.
Last night on the iPad got a FaceBook Message from a friend that hadn’t been in contact for a while. Exchanged pleasantries and then she asked if I heard about her good news - she had received $100k from some Good Samaritan and that I could too.
My antenna immediately went up and asked her where she was.
Shortly after no reply FB had removed the post.
Phew - it’s game on - especially for us oldies!

    Nothing new.
Anyone giving you money but you must
    1)Send them some
    2)Send personal details
is bullshit, no matter what the reason.

Any click to download is bullshit.

Especially if it's ages after having dealt with the company.

I'm waiting on a quote, I expect he'll do it like before, via Xero, you go to his link to accept or decline, or comment, but it shows the website clearly. No asking to download anything, no login, no whatever....

Years ago I had a small business on the North Shore, mechanical repairs to cars, trucks, mowers, and chainsaws.
From time to time we would get an invoice for an advert which was allegedly run in a local magazine. As we were small, I knew that it was a scam, but in a large business payment for advertising etc would be made by the accountant who wouldn't bother to query it.

If you want to conceal your name in future Jim, you might want to use something with more than 50% opacity!

Yep, that's an old one. Apparently loads of businesses actually paid it! We've had it back then, but we know where and when we advertised so ignored them.

    Bastards
I hate all of these scammers.
They just waste our time and catch some people out sometimes.

I got one a while ago, and I reported it to NZ net something.
I got a reply back saying that is no the sort of thing they are interested in following up on.

One more this morning. Damn it looks as though my email address has been compromised via that Harrison’s Carpet scam!

I get scam emails from Paypal which really annoys me, as I do have a Paypal account that I use from time to time.

ONE golden rule for scams -- NEVER EVER click on the provided link no matter how legit it looks or what the message says, they are designed for shock / Importance value.

For your Netflix you would go to netflix.co.nz , sign in top right with the known account details. Fake links are easy as falling off a log to fake.

Want an example - Netflix Login click Here.

NOW the question -- The above link says its Netflix -- But IS it or will it take you someplace else

IF by some chance your account has been stolen you can contact Them by phone or live chat https://help.netflix.com/en/node/41049 ( bottom of page)
