Default Task Manager shows CPU use 100% and Memory, up to 84%

I am running Windows 10 on an LG Desktop (Life's Good). The desktop has an Amd processor 6 Core with 8 Mgs RAM. In the past few days Version 1.7 of my marvellous Affinity Photo came out. The update is great, however, I now find the desktop struggling at key points. Today I launched the Task Manager window and watched. I had a RAW file (NEF) and made a couple of basic alterations, then I "developed" the file to edit in the main "Persona". At one point the CPU usage was right up to 100%, though only fairly briefly. The Memory usage kept in the high 70's, low 80% and peaked at about 84%. There is no doubt that whilst Affinity Photo has grown even more sophisticated, it is also much more demanding in terms of digital resources.

What message should I take from these readings please? What steps should I consider/not consider please?

Well, 145 views and no response - I have probably asked what seems a stupid question. I will try to answer myself and see if this agreed. The fact that the CPU usage was only briefly 100% seems to indicate that the system is mostly coping with the demands, also the RAM. From what I understand one or more of the hard drives will be being used as a scratch disc(s). Since the C Drive - an SSD is 256 Gigs and only half filled and the spinning drive (G) is 1TB and only half filled also that helps with demands on the (RAM?).

So, I am worrying about nothing?

I do not know anything about Affinity Photo however so long as your PC is doing what you require I would not be at all concerned. You could add another 8 Mgs of ram I guess if cost is not an issue, that may or may not make a difference.

    I found this:

    and this:

"AP is great for editing, but I don't bother to use it for RAW conversion, too slow and too poor ATM."

A better CPU would probably help.....
