Hi All
One of the Nurses in this rest home asked me to Google "Will 5g be bad for our health". I did & what I read is quite scary. I suggest you do the same. PJ![]()

Deafness.
When I was younger I heard but didn't listen.
Now I am older, I listen but cannot hear.
If it is not broke, don't make it broker by trying to make it better. (This applies specifically to PJ)
Where are the peer reviewed scientific studies ?
Same has been said about cellphones, that was the big scare some years back . Putting a ph next to year ear is worse than some celltower in the distance .
Same has been said about EMF from power cables in your house
Same has been said about the HV Power Line near peoples homes
Same has been said about microwave ovens, and old school TV's , dental Xrays, sitting in the sun, not sitting in the sun
I Knew of a guy who made a lead sheild above his bed to try & block all this
Its mostly tinfoil hat stuff
Its ALL radiation, even light is radiation .
BTW, better stay outside , as Radon is slowly killing you while indoors, supposedly

No point in worrying about it the doomsayers tell us we are all going to be underwater before long anyway.
As 1101 said "where are the peer reviewed studies?"
It's sad to me that people will trust any random person on the internet without anything but statements and beliefs over actual science. That's the beginning of things like the flat earth BS.
There's such a deep rooted mistrust some people have for science and scientists and yet all day every day we benefit from their work in countless ways.
The element on your electric stove is basically an antenna, when it's on it radiates stronger than most other sources of EM radiation in your household. Directly in front of the microwave tends to be a hot spot too.
The old Digital alarm clocks with the red and green LEDs radiate EM quite strongly too, surprisingly so. And then there' the power wires to the power points and light switches running through your walls that rarely get considered.
Then there are solar winds, cosmic radiation and other natural sources (not a joke). We are all bombarded by EM radiation all day every day and always have been. At a certain level it does become very dangerous, but the legal limit devices have to comply with is many orders of magnitude below that level.
Point being, where's the evidence after all these decades that any of it is causing us harm? Largely in people's imagination I would suggest.
I live under a pylon and the builder had a survey done and radiation measurements taken around the property and supplied a list of common devices and their normal levels. You may be surprised that fluorescent lighting is a much higher radiation source than say a cell tower outside your house. Because of this and because I work in a related industry I did quite a bit of reading on the subject and conclude there's nothing to worry about.
All that said if it worries you get a headset or earphones with a microphone and keep the cell phone away from your skull. No harm in being overly cautious I guess.

When I read that 5G would disrupt the weather satellites, I thought to myself, why don't they update the satellites?
Your parents/grandfathers old watch with glow in the dark dial that you keep in the drawer: radioactive paint . The ladies that used to hand paint them did get really sick though .
Radon Gas coming up from under your house or from brick or concrete, thats a real thing that can be measured. Does it matter for most of us, I doubt it . Open a window .
Formaldehyde degassing out from particle board floors, real and could be measured (not sure if its still used in particle board). Some claimed it made them sick .
Potatoes : poisonous unless we cook them up . Would probably be banned if they were man made , but natural so its OK .
Anything on the internet : assume it to be BS as no one ever fact checks . Copy and paste journalism
My tin foil hat keeps me safe.
:-)
I have no idea if my cellphone is harming me or not but to be cautious I nearly always use it on speakerphone.
Sorry I spoke. PJ

Don't be. I was looking forward to seeing other people's observations on this. Not that I'm trying to do any scaremongering, but if 5G evidently interferes with satellites, it makes me wonder what else. Of course it could also be the cure for covering the ozone layer.
Hey PJ, all these things are going to be questioned. So the more that groups similar to ours (current techies, old retired techies & interested well informed hobbyists etc)se we can inform the masses with words of wisdom
And, we learn from each other. Just think, are you like me? I knew nothing of the theory of whether an aeroplanes on a conveyor belt would eventually fly off it?
Oh, no, I hope I haven't started it off again
