Default Sound query. Should I use Realtek?

I have a ASUS Sabertooth P67 motherboard, Intel i5 2500K processor. The Audio shows as Digital audio (s/pdif) High Def.

With Windows 10 Pro I very occasionally run into video sound not playing and need to use a different player to the films and music player in Windows 10.

That raises a thought as to why my computer does not have Realtek for audio. Do I need Realtek? I see under sound that there are drivers for Nvidia as well that are not operating at present.

If I was to install realtek should I go to their site or ASUS?

OK sorry for posting too early. I went ahead and downloaded Realtek from ASUS and my problems have gone away.

You can uninstall the nVidia sound drivers if you want. They serve no purpose if you have the Realtek drivers installed ok.
