Google Chrome close plus Gmail received emails

2 separate issues.

a) Chrome.
How do I close Chrome properly?
. At present I have to click on X , but next time I open Chrome I get Chrome did not close(or open Properly) and get 2 tabs one of which is Restore.

b) New Gmail has an irritating feature of extra folders such as Promotions and Updates.
I am finding some (quite a few) emails are going there directly rather than to my Inbox as before. When I select the Move Tab the list of Options of where to move it excludes Inbox. Some emails are still going directly to my Inbox which is what I want.

Thanks Gary 67 I eventually found the Settings part where I could uncheck other type folders.
I'll check to see if that fixes Gmail. I personally find Gmail rather limited so I long ago set it to automatically transfer emails to Outlook.
I do sometimes leave emails there in case I accidentally delete them from Outlook
