Normally called slip-slops where I come from.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

We used a garage hire trailer recently. The caged sort. We had tree leafy stuff to get rid of, we are aware of the (loaded) weight etc for our vehicle.
It was great, no issues with it at all, other than we couldn't back in, pole over road and our out of practice backing skills, so we unhooked it and pushed it, alas too feeble to get it up over lip of kerb.

Lucky as we caused a small traffic jam the large guys waiting hopped out and pushed it up for us.

But towing was fine, pick up and drop off great, the k=skinny young guy at garage did all that for us himself.

Guess we are getting old and feeble.

It's lots of fun watching a car dealer trying to back a caravan (over-run brakes) using a Daimler Lanchester with pre-select gearbox in the rush hour.
After about 15 minutes of this street theater I do believe if somebody had offered him $10 for the pair, he would have handed over the keys on the spot (middle of the road, angled to block both sides) and been back with the paperwork in two minutes. It wasn't a particularly hot day, but he surely was the most red faced, sweatiest man in town.
