Default Apple iMac A1312 No Display Issues

Happy New Year! Ive been given a A1312 iMac to look, it has no display, it also has no chime when starting up either but it appears to boot normally, I can hear the CDDrive upon startup and a sluggish hard drive... when on....and when I hold my ear to iMac, all fans go normally and I can hear the hard drive. Anyone have any suggestions? Does it has a broken display? I also had a really good look upon startup and I cant see the backlight.... its just completely black.

Chuck it out these things are rubbish, design team needs to be fired for producing an abortion like this.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche
