Default no more plastic shoping bags

I'd like to see some sanity in the plastic shopping bags ban. Its more a ~feel good~ than a ~do good~ thing

Reusable are far from the clean green option

    https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/on-air/...-than-plastic/
A new study shows reusable cotton bags need to be used 173 times before they're better than single-use plastic bags for the environment.
Victoria University's environmental science lecturer Dr Lynda Petherick told Mike Hosking reusable bags are harsh on the environment to produce.
"I think sometimes people might just have a bit of a knee-jerk reaction, you see something that looks better on paper but isn't necessarily better when you look at the entire lifespan."

Cutting back on plastic bags can only be a good thing, but why ban the 2-3 bags I put my groceries in when 1/2 my groceries come wrapped in some sort of plastic .
Ban plastic shopping bags, but keep selling thousands of products that come in plastic bags that CANT be used again .

It is just virtue signaling. On top of that the Supermarkets cut their cost of supplying bags for free and at the same time make profit by selling replacement plastic bags. Probably the perfect con job, increase your costs and fool you into thinking it is a good idea.

I tend to agree with the virtue signalling argument here.

I see so many things wrapped in plastic that just don't need to be, and I think most Kiwis generally reuse plastic bags and dispose of them properly. What we really need to do is try to prevent plastic from getting in the waterways and ocean - but I'm not convinced banning 'single use' plastic bags is going to do anything at all to help.

One of the best PC con jobs yet.

Meanwhile 74.6% of products available on supermarket shelves are packed in plastic.

I worked for everything I have. Most successful people have done the same thing.
No, you aren't "entitled" to it. Too damn bad, Get it the way I did.

Then leave the packaging at the supermarket.

Or at the very least, take it back then once unwrapped (ie next time you go)

You have a manner of speaking very similar to Donald Trump, and I imagine an IQ to match.

Yes I dislike this plastic bag ban,
They are a very useful invention.

But yesterday by mistake I littered two bags as I was going into Countdown with some, I got out of my car and the wind blew them away.
That never happened under the old system!
So what colour is your Adkaf?
