    Default Harvest Moon

Have you heard of a "harvest moon"? I had heard the expression but I did not know what it was until I saw a documentary recently that said that a harvest moon was a full moon that the farmers made use of when they were bringing in their harvest and would continue harvesting by the light of the moon.

Last night was a full moon, what would have been considered a harvest moon by the farmers. When I arose in the middle of the night to answer the call of nature, I saw the moonlight streaming in the back window. It was very bright. I could imagine working by that light.

It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche
