Default Problem sending emails from sons place.

Outlook on SWMBO's HP lap top works no problem at home but as soon as she tries to send emails when at sons house it will not send. Receives OK and everything else works as normal.
    Comp fully updated.
This was happening before and after they upgraded to fibre.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

If you are using web mail (outlook.com) there shouldn't be a problem. BUT if using a Actual Email program with a ISP email address like Spark ( along with outlook - Part of Office) then there can be.

If you are using a ISP Email address there is often problems if you are trying to send mail via another ISP provider.

MEANING lets say your email address at home is with Spark, and your son is using another ISP other than Spark, then the mail is trying to relay through different ISP's, and spark don't allow it, so yo cant send (you can receive though).

To sort the problem correctly more info is needed.

    1. Who is your email and internet connection with at home ?
    2. Who is your Son with ?
    3. Are you trying to use Outlook (the program) or Outlook.com (web Mail) ?

Havnt seen that issue for a while, it was once fairly common with a few ISP's emails long long ago
as above , more info needed

Chances are your email is setup to use port 25 & your sons ISP blocks port 25 (?)
Way back, some ISP's didnt support roaming with their email, they could only send if connected to you ISP, not someone elses. I dont think thats an issue
    any more though

assuming your email is with slingshot....

    change outgoing/smtp port to 587

If your email is with Slingshot..seriously consider moving to gmail. Do it before you get forced to do it .
Looks like slingshot want out of the email hosting service

The solution was that avast was blocking it and so if antivirus is on computer try removing and see .

    relaying error.
Because different ISPs, it's an anti-spam measure on their part.

Change the send port to 587, that will cure it.
