Default Drugs verses Guns in the USA

Maybe it is just me but I fail to understand why people get hysterical about a few hundred gun deaths in the US last year but the around 72,000 killed by drug overdose get next to no publicity at all.

I totally agree, the lack of publicity is shocking! At least, if you ignorethe pages upon pages of news articles, reports, studies, and other pieces of information on it.

Actually, let's ignore themfor the sake of argument. Obama was President for 8 years, how dare he comment on other issues but not this one!
    Oh. Wait. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=barack+obama+sp...s+drug+problem

Hmm, maybe it is covered as an important issue after all....

Also, I think you'll find the number of gun related deaths in the US is not 'a few hundred', but maybe a few more than that: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...cs-maps-charts

Clive might not be accurate with his figures but no need to go way over the top with your insults.

Simply respond with the comparative figures for drug deaths and gun deaths for the latest available year

Lighten up Nick. I was merely making an observation not trying to start a political debate.

    My view on Clivos comments:

Guns do not kill people, people kill people. I love guns have always said firing the .5" M2 Brownings at a towed aerial target from a ship is better than sex.
I loathe, hate and detest vile people who take illegal drugs and have zero sympathy for any deaths resulting in their use.
Its amazing how Potatoes give us chips, fries and Vodka.

Get your s*** together every other vegetable.

It's great the way the President of the Philippines handles drug traffickers'.

Oh no, can't have that!!. But what's the ratio of Filipinos dying to drugs as opposed to the traffickers' being shot!.

Your so called 'observation' was wrong. While calling a spade a spade apparently isn't on around here anymore, I'm not sure even you actually expect us to believe it wasn't intended to push your views. Try to stick to facts instead of lies. If I say 2 + 2 = 3, that isn't an observation. It's bullsh*t and should be called out as such.

Of course I read it. Your statement was 100% correct? That's absolute rubbish. Gun related deaths were far higher than 'a few hundred'. Don't double down on lies.
