AA Batteries

Which are the best AA Alkaline batteries to buy in bulk. Plenty to choose from but which to purchase.?

Opinion :-)
I like the Varta From Bunnings. They do the job, they dont leak
Bulk for me being a pack of 20.

brands can vary in quality from year to year as they switch to other/cheaper manufacturers to stick their label on.
eg Enerloop are now a totally different brand to when they established their reputation many years back. Now just a label .

Thanks. I will have a look for the Varta batteries. Interesting to hear about Enerloop as i always thought they were a top brand. It's hard to keep up with these changes.

My vote is for Varta

Eneloop are rechargeable batteries and are ideal for digital flash.

Eneloop are still good, started out Sanyo and were bought by Panansonic. I'd recommend them over alkaline for most applications myself. Only takes a few charges to work out cheaper and they last a similar amount of time in general.
I use a lot of AAA batteries and a reasonable amount of AA batteries and almost always use NiMH, all have lasted me several years so far but I have had a couple give trouble after that time.

As for alkaline, most reviews I've read suggest there is not that much variation between brands. The last 20 pack I bought from bunnings are some silver coloured el cheapos and they haven't given me any trouble. Down to my last few now and it's been years.

For disposable, I'm a fan of Varta.
Haven't used rechargeables in so long, but I'd think any good brand of rechargable lithium ones would be the best.
