Default Rugby: Is it time to blow full time on the All Black haka?

I wonder if it will happen in my lifetime?

I would say so, but I'm not a football head, so it doesn't really bother me.

Both sides have a good argument - I'd say keep it, but limit it.
    Maybe home tests only.

When he arrived at Te Rapa,....he was being pursued by a war party

Te Rauparaha to climb into a kumara pi

When the pursuers arrived, .... is said to have muttered“Ka Mate! ka mate!” under his breath (Will I die!) and “Ka Ora! ka ora!” (or will I live!)

One could imagine his joy at not only eluding certain death by a mere whisker, but also coming out of the dark kumara pit into the light of day – “Whiti te rā! Hi!”

So the entire thing is about hiding in a root cellar, then climbing out after the enemy is gone.

Rather a cowardly one to choose isn't it?

Quite agree. Keep it for special occasions such as playing a foreign team. It's almost unique (Only NZ and some Pacific islands) so we don't want to lose it.

Why don't the British teams have some kind of ceremonial display for their rugby games? They have centuries of encompassing history from medieval times. Be neat if they had knights - like Sir lancelot - and horses parade before a international game. Remember Rugby did originate from England or Scotland I think...

They should keep it for games in NZ only.
