    Default My cat

Last night, 1:30ish I heard a racket....thought it was that lot from the HNZ zone jumping the fence again.
Went out in time to see the pitbull motoring round the house chasing one of my cats.
It did 2 circuits before heading off up the drive.

    Hoover is still missing.
He originally rescued himself from the HNZ zone, and I allowed him to move in, he's been here 18 months now.

A gentlemanly animal, he had been abused, you could tell from his behaviour at first.

So the fence over that way was also damaged a bit, I guess the dog, he'd be too small to have done it.

Done the pamphlet drops, the listings online, but if he could come back, he would have.

If he was hurt, well....and of course none of that lot over there will care. I did take my son and go knock on her right bhinds door but she wouldn't answer it, and they were home. No surprise there, she hates me cause I have reported her before - to HNZ and the cops...

I also rang animal control about the dog.......seen it roaming before, but it had not been down here before.

It's all very sad at our house today.

Yes, it's a sad time when your cat goes missing. In view of the experience he's had though, being chased by an invading dog, he may well lay low for a while before he decides it's safe to come back.

Cats are masters at disappearing for a few days though, and then just reappearing, even when they haven't had a bad experience. So, let's hope for the best.

    You must be very relieved

Back in the UK we had a cat that often slept in the car next door if the window had been left open.

The neighbour had a daughter living in Bournemouth, around 25 miles away. The cat disappeared.

Two weeks later it arrived home exhausted, foot sore, ate and slept for 2 days.

We reckoned it had made an incredible journey home across lots of main city roads and the main A roads without mishap, and escaped the numerous foxes on the way too.

Yep, relieved. Have had a cat killed by a dog before, not outright either, so it was a worry....but he obviously got up the fence fast enough and hid out for a bit....
had visions of either never finding him or getting horrendous vet bills....

I can totally understand what you were going through! I’m really glad to hear that he came back ok. A few years ago my beautiful Burmese cat went missing, was on the fence outside one morning then he was gone, unfortunately he didn’t ever come back
I’ll never know what happened or where he went.......

A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!

    No. We searched.
he was over fence somewhere...it's where he originally came from, I know he got on it, the fence was damaged where the dog tried to follow....

    Anyway, he's here now.
Sunday, husband was having a beer and dropped it, cat was napping nearby on deck and got splashed. So, being still quite jumpy after his ordeal, he took off again for a while.

But he's back....fur clean and dry...
