The big dry affects the wildlife too. There are birds in the neighbours peach tree, eating green small peaches.
They've had a go at my not ripe grapes too.

Desperate, so no, birds are not really a reliable test.

Plums ripen pretty fast though, and they go from firm but ripe to mushy and past it in no time.
Getting that right in the middle is tricky.

I am not a fan of yellow plums anyway, a bit insipid, give me Black Doris any day.

My all-time faves are omega's. Big, juicy and the right blend of tart and sweetness.
