I had a laugh when I saw that video a couple of days ago. It certainly is true of Kiwi-Speak for many, including so many in the media.
I doubt we will ever really go back to the days of "how now, brown cow" but a lot could be improved. The e's often become i's and i's can become u's. As in hip pronounced as hup.

Pronunciation can differ a lot between South Islanders and North Islanders and even various areas within each island.

Who worries how someone from Lancashire speaks, compared to someone from Yorkshire? I know my Lancashire born sister-in-law doesn't.

All I ever noticed was those in Otago and Southland roll their r's. Worrrrrk.
And use some weird terms for things:
