    Default Firefox Help-

So my FF always used to remember sites I visit often (like this one) before.
Actually it did get annoying after a while, it remembered them all and I'd have to clear cache etc to get rid of the bloat.
    But.

I wiped the PC today and did a fresh install.
Downloaded FF, not much of a jump in version however, all looks pretty much the same, settings all tweaked the same as before, but it refuses to remember.

By that I mean, when you type say pre..it would bring up an auto complete drop down suggestion type thing.
    Now it doesn't.

Remember my browsing history is on....so what am I missing? I do like it to remember these few....

From memory its to do with the search options. Check what you have, from the Options ( 3 bars top right) , then sea
    mine and it fine.

Thanks, but, I cured it this morning.

Unticked the remember options, then ticked them again immediately. And it went back to how it was.

It's Privacy: History: Remember browsing history.

I knew that, but it WAS ticked. Oh well, all good now so no worries.

Sounds a bit like Malwarebytes the other day, doesn't do what you tell it. Went to upgrade from V2 to V3, it asked if I wanted the trial of Prem - I selected NO, yet it installed it anyway

I hate reinstalls. All those annoying bits you have to fiddle with.
Monitor has been blacking too, as in sleep mode and that's turned off too! Grrr....

And sorting my Word normal.dot again...sigh.
So far I think I have all of them sorted now...but no doubt there's something else I haven't come across yet.

Have to say, the PC is lightning fast now though. Just shows what bloat removal does....I didn't reimage as the image is so old now, too many changes to make it worth it.
Printer, Word Version, SP on Windows, GPU driver, NOD version etc etc.

But my god it's fast now.

So, how did you get rid of it? The same thing happened to me.
Now-if I could just remember where I left my brain...

Uninstalled MB Via Revo-uninstaller in advanced mode ( so it removes the reg and left behind folders) - Said bye-bye. Some of those programs are getting too pushy -- If you say NO to using something it shouldn't install it anyway.

Cant remember who it was now ( so cant give credit) But lately I have been using, since someone recommended it here ( in day to day usage) the portable version of https://windows-repair-toolbox.com/ It has several anti-malware tools as well as other functions.

    Interesting.
    I downloaded it.
But I don't like that you select something and it downloads and runs whatever....I prefer more control and many of things are available anyway.

Guess if you like the bundledness....
