Default Smart phone GPS -> car's stereo display?

Is it possible to use the smart phone's GPS to display (map) on the car's stereo display? My car stereo set has a SD card slot for GPS navigation.

I've tried to use the BT but doesn't work; it only play music and answering calls.

Not unless your car stereo take a video feed from you phone (or the car stereo is Apple CarPlay or AndroidAuto enabled) - you hven't said what phone you have.

    It's Samsung Galaxy Note5.

I don't quite understand what you meant by 'takes a video feed'.

I have a third party stereo set - NavPro unit installed.

Exactly that. Does you car stereo have a video feed in, either hdmi connect or composite video connection. Then you'd use a lead from your phone. It most likely doesn't.

Some head units have a touchscreen and can play Video such as from a reversing camera or DVD player that's why.

My strong suspicion is the answer is just no. I connect my Note 5 via BT audio and play music from it and use it to navigate but it uses it's own screen. Works really well, the phone remembers what song you are up to between trips unless you use it to play music in between and for navigation instructions or incoming calls it auto mutes the music so you can hear then resumes afterwards. I find this the best way to listen to music and navigate.

As has already been said - you'd need an Android Auto compatible headunit for that to work. The headunits are still super expensive. Think the cheapest one I've seen was like $600? So either use the navigation that you already have, or get a nice mount for the phone and use that. No magic way to do what you want unfortunately.

Most smartphones have a maps app. Well the one I've got does. You can set home on it (where you are).

Use that. It'll show you a map of whatever / let you download whatever map. And it may also speak the directions / where to go, once you give it the destination.

    You dont need anything else
