Further investigation shows that there's another error in the Event viewer -> Windows logs -> System :

"The CldFlt service failed to start due to the following error:
The request is not supported "

Google says it has something to do with log on password.

My Windows 10 has been working OK since I replaced the SSD and reinstalled Win 10 not too long ago in May 2017.

You can try the suggestion in Post #3 from https://www.tenforums.com/performanc...rs-update.html

The problems may also be related to hardware, the shutting down _ Often if a Computer just suddenly shuts down the Power is the first thing you look at, esp if there are no BSOD.

One thing positive about Windows 10 is that there is never a dull moment anymore on ye olde computer

Your above link worked. Changed the value from 2 to 4 clears the the error. Thanks

I am also worried that it might be the PSU. My Corsair RM750i is pretty new - it was a warranty replacement of my old HX750.

The restarting was like pressing the RESET button.

Hope it's just a 'one off' and won't happen again.

Let's come back to the 'bingweather' error, is there any possible solution to it?

Ran Trouble shooter, it says that Microsoft account required. Do I need to sign in to MS account?

I don't want to use the Microsoft account; can I just sign in to this particular session (operation)?

Signed in to the Store and ran Trouble shooter again and here is the result:

Restarted PC and the bingWeather error still doesn't go away.

"Activation of app Microsoft.BingWeather_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App failed with error: This app does not support the contract specified or is not installed. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information."

The DISM command you ran before often fixes problems like that, but in this case it hasn't (fully).

    Try this : https://www.kapilarya.com/fix-window...-in-windows-10

Yes you can, I dont sign into a MS account, all the computers here log into one of my servers. What you do is when you open an app that wants a MS account, ( you still need one ) look carefully and you should see an option to sign into the particular app only.
