Everyone is so self absorbed these days they don't even know who their neighbours are. We always make sure to talk to our neighbours and often share stuff from our garden with them

Sounds more like your ISP stalling than Chorus. Chorus are generally up-front with where the install is at and will openly tell you if they're not able to schedule a contractor to get out to do the design or install until X date.

Precisely why we went Spark Wireless, it was that or ADSL, no VDSL and we are in central Invercargill!!!!

We are in a far queue, now slipped to January 2018. My kids are hanging out for faster response on their kill em games. Got VDSL which was a big improvement.
