    Smile Chromecast

Not really computer, but, been thinking on getting a Chromecast.
I presently run my lappy on to our TV with HDMI.
Will Chromecast be the same, IE whats on desktop on TV?
    Thanks,
    Ian

I think you have to install Chrome if you use windows. I've never tried this

But I have tried a chromecast with a smartphone. Using Google Home. Or something. You have to set it up first and you get a pin code / number. So you can connect to it

Then you can go to whatever site and cast it so it appears on the screen

As Speedy said you need to have the Chrome browser installed on a Windows PC. It then works brilliantly. Once you start casting it will carry on and you can do other tasks at the same time for example be watching a Utube clip and process email.

You plug the chromecast into a spare HDMI port. It should come with a power supply, in case the TV doesnt have a USB port

Also if you have a smartphone/tablet a few apps have a chromecast button. I think this is a better experience than the computer.

    Apps like Netflix, lightbox, YouTube

Slingshots giving one away, with a 24 month contract.
Not to keen on the 24 month, but I thinks they only $60-$70 anyways.
    Thanks for all the replys.

Yup Chromecast 2 is about 69. The latest one is over $100 which supports 4K.
