DSE Adapter USB to Serial Adapter XH6381 Driver

Anyone know where to find the driver for this device? Trying to get it going for a vinyl cutter for a friend, but am having no luck getting the drivers for this thing.

I can find drivers for the similar model XH8290 but they don't work.

Computer is a Sony Vaio Y Series VPCYB16KG with Windows 10 Pro x64. If 64-bit is the problem, I might be able to grab a 32-bit system to try on.

Plug it in go to device manager to its entry. Double click on it. Go to details tab / change it to hardware ids. Copy and paste whats there in here

Looks like it's also called a US101 USB to RS-232 adapter

It either doesn't, or seems to get stuck on "Searching online for software" which it's currently doing.

It may use an FTDI chip. Get the top driver.

Extract it. Right mouse on the ftdibus.inf file and the ftdiport.inf file / install

It's an FTDI chip but it seems DSE or such gave it a custom VID/PID.

You should be able to install the standard FTDI driver from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and when Windows complains that the driver doesn't match the hardware, force it to install.
