Default How to remove the stand bracket of an LG monitor

    Hi guys

I just bought a monitor stand to go with one of my two LG monitors.
    Its great.
But I could not remove the bracket that is attached to my monitor - its an LG 22EN43.
Removing the large base is easy.

So I did a search on Google and could not find out how to do it, aside from removing the whole bezel from around the monitor to reveal two hidden screws that let you remove the bracket. This looked pretty dangerous and may break your screen or warranty.

Then I found this video ! Its amazing.

So I won't be buying any more LG monitors
It seems Acer has a similar design feature.
So what colour is your Adkaf?

Obviously not used to changing LCD screens on laptops or some all in ones eh Piece of cake. The tools required are really technical - 1st your fingers, 2nd an old plastic Card (credit, Money Machine / eftpos etc)

Cutting off the Stand as per the video - Sorry - your warranty is screwed if you do that.

I left the stand hanging on mine when I put two on an Arm.

They come from the factory with it attached IIRC, can't be removed

Just purchased a Samsung S24F350FH,very similar mount but has a plate that can be unscrewed to detach the mount base from the Monitor

This allows a clean attachment of the Vesa mount

A closer look and the Samsung would have the same problem as the LG but the base which cannot be removed would be unseen from the front

Would not be able to be mounted flush on a wall though

Why not just buy a better monitor?

    Sad huh?

In my case, I didn't realize it was locked to the unit, it's not usually high on the list of questions you ask the sales guys, nor did I know I was going to want the monitors suspended from an arm.

Does the bracket detach easily is not usually one of the questions high in ones mind when buying a monitor.
It is also a topic never mentioned in reviews!

So do you think it is only in top end models or certain brands.
I notice that the Philips monitors at work do not seem to have bracket stands.

I find it Ridiculous that they don't just all use the Vesa mounts to attach their factory stands, they all inlude the Vesa mount so why not use it themselves.
Heaven forbid someone might bolt an LG stand onto a Samsung monitor or something, or customers might easily be able to use after market products with their monitors.
