This project can still be backed on indiegogo, last month to do so.

LEDE should be the distribution on it. It seems its more for network enthusiasts using its wireless capabilities.

There are many Single Board Computers out there. Another project from Kickstarter was C.H.I.P a $9 computer. Although Raspberry Pi would be the most popular one around.

Basically they make use of technology built for embedded systems like mobiles and squash it all onto a PCB board.

I wouldn't mind funding SBCs for educational purposes and families in need. I may look at this in the near future.

The most powerful model is 580 MHz with 128 MB of RAM

I look forward to reading the saga of getting a desktop Linux running on that!
Especially seeing there appears not to be a video out of any sort.

If it is absolutely guaranteed to be immune to Win 10%, the virus that you install yourself; there is likely a huge market.
