    Default Cell phone

    Hi All.
Is it possible to type/text into an email to go to a cell phone? Thanks. PJ
    Deafness.
When I was younger I heard but didn't listen.
Now I am older, I listen but cannot hear.

If it is not broke, don't make it broker by trying to make it better. (This applies specifically to PJ)

You mean "e text" - email text to a mobile number and the telco's gateway and possibly SMS service center number) as the email address. Described here - But don't know if NZ telco's would support it. but paid services seem to exist, e.g. NZ Web SMS.

You can set up email to be received on any smartphone. That would be easier.

Ok I will try that later

I have another query now more important. Maryann in Hospice Hospital has no internet access. I want to download recent emails from family in the UK onto a pendrive. I have looked at the email pages & cannot see how to do it. Fairly urgent plase as I might be taken to see her this afternoon. She will be 80 tomorrow. Thanks PJ

Try opening message then select print (or right click in message to select print- but don't print), and look for destination (or similar) and change/save to pdf. Or may have option to upload/save online. For example Google Drive, if using Gmail. May have to convert PDF's to text (rtf), then copy to pen drive.

If you are using Windows live mail ( or any mail client really - and some web mail) if you double click the mail you want , this opens that mail only, then top left from "file" click that and you'll get options , including Print, save as etc, BUT if taking to someone like your wife printing would be a better option then its on paper - no other devices to read/required.

If using Gmail, another way is to activate the text widget in the labs section. Described here.... Though I can't find that widget....probably removed.
