Hey everyone I'm currently doing a survey on "ISP".
I would like to find out for what ISP you have and how much out of 10 would you rate it .
If you would like to , show download and upload speed .
Thanks

Well lets., see there are really only 3 main providers left these days, with Xnet, Orcon etc all being bought by one of the 3.
Spark
Vodafone
Slingshot.

Download and upload speed is really irrelevant unless you're on fibre or cable - as DSL speeds decrease the further you are from the exchange or a cabinet.
What would be more meaningful would be to compare line speeds in the modem with actual speedtests, and see what the difference is, that could give you a bit of an idea which providers suffer more from congestion during peak times, or are throttling.
I'm with Bigpipe, find them awesome to deal with, I would rate them 9.5/10. 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up, but that is because we're only able to get ADSL where we are, so it's a bid hard to compare that to someone who can get fibre.

He's right, and thankfully we have the Commerce Commission who pay TrueNet to do this for us:Download and upload speed is really irrelevant unless you're on fibre or cable - as DSL speeds decrease the further you are from the exchange or a cabinet.

And yes, Xnet are now a part of Vodafone, and Slingshot are technically M2Group, along with Callplus / Vocus etc
I mostly do Bitcoin & DigiByte things these days, feel free to say hi on Twitter: https://twitter.com/dgb_chilling

There's a lot of smaller providers that don't often get a mention due to the lack of marketing power but that get really good customer reviews. Flip has recently won a whole bunch of awards for good customers service. The report you doing sounds really interesting, would love to have a look at it once it's complete.

Have been with Vodafone for a while. Havent had too many probs with them, since they brought Telstraclear (my previous ISP).
Soon find out how good their fibre is, when I get it it tomorrow. It's been laid and all that, all they have to do is put the box whatever it is on the house and activate it tomorrow
I'm with Actrix, for quite a while now, and they are excellent. On the rare occasions I've called them, the call is answered after 3 or 4 rings and you speak to a real person who knows what they are talking about. My only minor gripe atm is that their spam filter seems to be somewhat ineffective as I'm getting inundated.
