    Default New speed

I recently changed plans with Spark to the offered 100/50 plan but my speeds stay where they were on the previous plan (37 up, 22 down). I thought that this was due to an overloaded internet in NZ, but a friend today told me he had the same problem, the Spark HelpDesk told him to change the WLAN channel to 11, and he got 92 d/l. I called the HelpDesk but my Helpdesk helper kind of blame the line and wants me to call the technical guys although I told him my speeds are not changing, it is stable, I just do not get the higher speeds. I've got the Huawei HG630b modem, and I followed the instructions on the Spark website to change channels. No difference in speeds.

    Any ideas?

Plug in an ethernet cable, disable wifi, do a speedtest.

Which speed test site are you using? 37 up, 22 down is a weird reading. ignore wifi speed readings Ypou pay for the speed delivered to the router. What plan were you on before?

The Ookla site as well as Spark's own test. Both more or less the same. Before I've been on the Fibre 30 I think

What device are you testing with, if it's a PC how old is it, what are the specs, and what is the OS.

Lappie, Intel I3, 2.4 ghz, 4gb ram, 64 bit Win10, 750Gb HD of which 50G used. Surely your device does not have that much an influence on the speed?
