    Default index.dat

    In my temp internet files folder is the file 'index.dat' it it slowly growing in size, is there a way to delete this or edit to reclaim the space that it takes?.

    Hello Gary,

    The index.dat file can only be deleted when in DOS, using the deltree command or by installing a programme such as Window Washer that will automate the process for you.

    Thanks Alan. I wonder if you could tell me the exact command line to type in at the dos prompt. Im not very dos savvy. I use IE6.
