Default Recommend me a laptop for uni

I'm looking at getting a laptop for uni, my current one is just too big to be easily portable. Budget is flexible, but lower is better. Under $1000 would be good, and I'd like a screen size of around 13.3 inches - I could go for something smaller, but not for larger. Other than that, I don't really have any deal breakers, although I'd like a Core M or I.

    Suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm studying economics. So nothing really strenuous on a computer, but there would be some larger, image and graph heavy word docs, and some largeish excel sheets.

A Commodore 64 should be fine.

    Although a Sinclair might suffice?

B.M., I know we clash in political and environmental threads, but please keep your bullsh*t away from here.

    Thanks

You’re probably right Greg but I was giving him the benefit of considerable doubt.

    http://pricespy.co.nz/category.php?m=s226117121

21 laptops to choose from 12-13.3" $500-1000 intelcoresomethings

get the cheapest, put an SSD in it, max out the ram and it will be much better than the most expensive on the list for all practical use case scenarios.

provided the cheapest provides easy access to hdd and ram. alternatively replace the optical drive with an ssd and retain vast internal storage whist ALSO getting that extra ram..

    its all mud.

Been selling quite a few lenovo's lately. The common size is 15.6, so some of the smaller ones are actually more expensive than the larger.

Been available for several years In NZ ( from Wholesale suppliers), and the shops are only just now getting them in stock ( places like Harvey Normans) They are well known in the business place for being solid and reliable.

Sometimes the online shop is actually cheaper than any computer shop . Just some examples with sizing & pricing http://shopap.lenovo.com/nz/en/deals..._b1_affordable

I had a look at the Lenovo Store. The Thinkpad E450 is definitely worthy of consideration, but a bit bigger than I'd like.

I'm aware the 13.3 models carry a price premium, but sadly 15.6 is just too big for me.
