No I installed win 10 to see if I could update to Win 11 on a VM via the insider update method.

Gotta say I'm loving some of the new settings panels. Especially the power one on the laptop. This has to be the first version of windows where I don't have any knee jerk reaction to want to use the Control Panel for anything (except maybe the network and sharing centre, still prefer that)

Edit: one annoyance is that yay they finally replaced the volume mixer but boo that they could have integrated it in to the new control center but instead put it in the settings app

Thanx for that link. Just did it and created the ISO but still says PC does not meet the requirements. I would have thought a VM would have been OK..

Oh frabjous day, calloo callay! I have managed to install Win11 on a VM on my main PC, despite all the checking utilities saying it wasn't up to it. I'd given up on VMware and Insider builds as way back I was having the new builds not install 100% of the time.
First impressions? The initial setup was a bit long and tedious, although I have to make allowances for the fact that the VM slows things down significantly. Too soon to say much else.

You can upgrade a Working W10 by altering the Reg, then do a inplace upgrade from the W11 ISO and away it goes. How long this will work -- Dunno, have to wait and see what MS does. The reg change / add, Number 3 https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/new...0-requirement/ OR to save some time exported the .reg if ya want it just say and I'll upload it.

You can also do the regedit trick on a clean install when booting from a USB- before you click the button on the installer welcome screen to begin installation, press shift + f10 to open a command prompt, run regedit, then add in the DisableSecureBootCheck and DisableTPMCheck Registry keys. Then run set up and all should be good
