Windows 10 --- Latest Tech Preview

I've been out for a couple of hours, and when I came in the slow machine was waiting at the multi-boot screen to restart after a different update, and is now at 2% downloading. The main machine had gone to sleep and now seems tobe in a cycle of install/download/install/download. Currently at 0% download.

The main machine is done, but the old machine is "downloading - 5%", though whether that's still the first time round I don't know.

Now its at 8%.

The old machine is at 91% install, so it will finish sometime after 6pm, after starting at about 08:30. Has to be slowest ever.

As mentioned before the download took quite while, mine took (at a guess as wasn't actually timing it) another hour to install. Yet to try anything that may be new or altered.

another reason why I'll keep 7 until absolutely unusable....

This thread is about the preview / BETA versions, Not the release to public. ANYONE who uses insider builds should know they are testing versions and expect bugs.

I've worked on some W7's recently, there,s quite a few things you cant do on W7 that's easy as pie on W10, and as for New Computers -- The manufactures have already stopped supporting drivers for W7.

That reasoning makes absolutely no sense. We are talking here about preview versions, and in this case, extreme preview. The way they perform/install bears almost no resemblance to the production versions. Windows 7 was a very good OS, but its day is well past.

Just noticed WT's post - interesting that what we say is almost identical.
