Seems theres a bug that may hit this very few in this build, But a work around from MS.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_install/build-15042-for-pc-install-hangs-workaround

Its only a reg entry, so if I hit it Theres something I will try, wont need a rollback, but of course cant try unless it happens

It's only a small % of users that will hit this, so the vast majority of Insiders won't need to do these steps.

Mine went OKish. The download can through quick, and partly installed ready to reboot after about 45 minutes. Made the ISO as per the site linked - That worked.

Installed it fresh on another PC , it went in fine. Its also got No Expiry date.

THEN every thing on this Insider PC turned to Appeared to be going OK, until one reboot and no Sign of life on the display shut it down, removed the Graphic Card as it was making some weird noises , put it back in, it tried again then started rolling back--Awhhhhhhhhhh Snot !!

Going to do the reg deletions previous mentioned to see if that helps.
Tony You "may" have to go back to the Reg and alter the supportsUUP back to 0. ( only a guess).

well at 2pm I'm still on 0%. This is on my old slow spare PC so I think I'm just going to wait at least until this evening to see if it does manage to lurch into action. There is some occasional disk activity, so something might be going on. Reading your posts I wonder whether I want to do it at all on the other PC!

O me of little faith! I don't know when it kicked into life because I've been away from the office, but it is now at the "we need to restart" stage.

OK. Got to the desktop at 15:35. Had a bit of a play, then rebooted and all seems OK.

I'm now trying it with VM on the other PC. That identified the new build at 15:54, and is currently at "initializing updates". I'm interested with this one to see (a) how long it all takes and (b) whether it does the peer-to peer thing with the other recently-updated PC. They can definitely both see each other on the network and they are both set up for peer-to-peer, so it will be interesting.

17:55 the VM has just rebooted and is at 75%. The initial restart was at about 17:00.

Well the second attempt went perfect. No idea how long it actually took, as I was inside having a few drinks, decided I better come out and look

Installed good as gold AND the one Item I've been waiting to break STILL works fine

Got to the VM desktop at 18:20. Tomorrow I'll do the native (multi-boot) machine and then look at the data usage.
