    All done. Very small download - only 224mb. Perhaps they finally got UUP working.

    Yeah Maybe. The first one came through rather quick, the other I'm not to sure, just set it going and we went out. Rebooted when we came back.

    Its still not the RTM by the looks, expiry still showing.

    My laptop here just tried to go from 15042 to 15048, got to 30% of the update and them bailed out and went back to 15042.

    May want to manually try updating again. Normally when a new version comes out they discontinue the auto download for the previous. Its possible it may have gotten mixed up some how.

    The latest is 15061

    The 15061 install on the multi-boot machine has been a disaster. I started it off last night and left it. This morning the PC was powered off. I powered on and it went to the default (i.e. non-insider) system. I rebooted and chose the insider system, and it showed the 15060 desktop, i.e. no update. A notification said and update failed (oh really?) and the full message said a restart is required to complete the install. I did an "update and restart" but it just came back to the 15060 desktop. I tried a new update and the whole thing just repeated - when it restarted it went to the standard system rather than doing the update.

    I could download an ISO and install from that but why bother? I've given up on this one and I'll wait for the next build to see what happens. I posted feedback about it, and it looks like there were quite a few others having problems as well.

    There will always be problems, no matter what is put out. Theres to many items that can go wrong. ( this is with any OS) on 15060, one went in nicely, while the other got in a look of failure, looked on blog and there was a workaround, buy deleting one reg key, after that it went straight in.

    15061 went in good on both.

    Still not convinced they have the UUP sorted.

    I'm less convinced than I was. The VM only downloaded 224mb but the other (failed) update downloaded over 1gb.

    While you are right that there are so many variables that it is easy to go wrong, I don't understand why it is so variable from build to build or even within builds on a VM and a multi-boot partition that both have the same underlying hardware..

    Tried to set up homegroup to share printers.
    When I select homegroup from control panel comes up with this:
    Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library
    Run time error
    ProgramC:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\DIIHost.exe
    R6034
    An application has made an attempt to load theC runtime library incorrectly.
