You've never heard of Joe Satriani (co-incidentally at the ASB Theatre November 1), or Marvin Gaye? Where have you been hiding? You must have at least 95% of both feet in the grave ...

Have been listening to Streisand's new release "Partners" on YouTube tonight. Lovely, I think I will purchase it.

Two or three months ago I checked out a video of Royal Blood, I heard reports about this "energetic" drummer and the "buitar" the singer played.

Bought the debut album the day it came out in New Zealand, just before I hopped on a plane to Europe (to go hear The Libertines play).

Got to England and Royal Blood are number one on the album charts and the biggest selling rock album in three years.

I think I've played that album every day since, seems to get better with repeat playing.

Still can't believe the sound he gets with that bass guitar, and they're playing Laneways in Auckland early next year.

For me it is between this and Nick Cave Live at KCRW for album of the year so far.
