PC power usage a month (Litecoin mining)

I use www.litecoinpool.org, already linked to it with the calculator previously.
At 3100 lotal KH/s I'm getting 1 LTC a day

I put 650 into the calculator and 400W;

That's not bad! I'm hoping to hit 3000kH/s between all of them so that sounds promising that you're reaching 1 LTC daily... Appreciate the input, I'll see how I go with coinotron for a few days and see if it matches up with those figures.

What cards are you using dugimodo? My 2x Sapphire R9 290X's are only getting 830kH/sec and I'm pretty confident they should be able to go higher. Top card sits at 84 degrees, the other at 75. Overclocking your kit at all?

EDIT: Just re-read, saw you're using 280X's. I'd imagine you're probably getting around what I'm getting on my 290X's currently then?

Mine's a hodgepodge, and built on a pair of boards not in cases. Temps range from 68-78 across the 5 cards, in a case it was getting to 85 and higher and using more power (fans crank up). I should take a photo, it's a mess.

Rig 1;
2 x 280X - around 700-750 KH/s each using a mild overclock and undervolt of 1050/1500 1.1V
approx 1450 KH/s total avg over 24 hours

Rig 2;
1 x 7970 - 730 KH/s exactly the same everything as 280Xs except voltage is 1.2V - can't mix this with the 280X's it causes stability issues
1 x 7950 - 500-600 KH/s - this one is dissapointing, was expecting more from it but currently hashing at 550 overclocked to 1000, did get 600 out of it at one point but can't remember how.
1 x 5870 - 395KH/s - barely worth the trouble but it does add a few $ per month
approx 1630 KH/s total

Hmmm... I've got mine set to 875/1500, but I can't adjust the voltage on the 290X's for some %@#$ reason Tried with Sapphire Trixx and the MSI stuff too (They're Sapphire cards but the MSI stuff works). You wouldn't happen to have any ideas there would you?

My desktop PC which is on 24/7 anyways with the 7970 is running at 650kH/s, I should look at tweaking it a little, it's just 100% stock...

Can't help with the voltages sorry, trixx works for me. My 7970 has a dual BIOS switch which alters the default clocks & voltage, the 280x and 7950 have the same switch but it doesn't seem to do anything - right next to the xfire connector I think.

I did a lot of trial and error and got the 280X's pretty sweet, the 7970 I just copied the clock settings from the 280X and left the voltage stock to keep it stable, the other cards I haven't put much effort into - the 5870 seems to hash lower when I overclock and the 7950 is hard to keep stable over 550 and I have trouble adjusting the voltage on it

Undervolting may actually be more worthwhile than overclocking, it's fairly easy on my cards to reduce the power consumption and possibly save more money than I'd gain from overclocking at full power - it's all about efficiently.
remember also it's not just about cranking the clocks up, it's about the ratio between memory and CPU clocks, some people have gotten big gains from underclocking one or the other. This site might help, config posted = 1MH/s http://rumorscity.com/2013/12/03/lit...-1000khashsec/

This one looks like a promising set of numbers from that link R9 290X, 884KH/s 920 1500 Y 325 cgminer 3.7.2 -I 20 -g 1 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 32765
and this one seems crazy good and uses lower clocks R9 290X 990KH/s 900 1350 300 bfgminer 3.6.0 -I 20 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 32765

Yeah I found those but I was getting nowhere near that with those configs. With the one that's supposed to get 990, I only get 680 :-/

Also wondering if there's something I need to do on the cards coz can't undervolt them...

Flashed a custom BIOS, currently happily sitting right on 950kH/s!

First card was faulty, its been taken back to PBTech for replacement, couldn't get it reliably to over 650kH/s even with identical settings to the other which was reaching 950. Same settings, same BIOS etc...

How about a bank of these at 1.6GH/s / 2watts?

Delivery seems a bit tardy with this supplier - certainly not the 7 day EMS delivery quoted, but I wait in hope

We're talking litecoins more than bitcoins but these http://www.butterflylabs.com/monarch/ will make the ones you posted a bit redundant once they start spreading. I was tempted to order one but the suppliers track record for delivery times is pretty shocking, the things may be out of date before you receive one. If you could buy one and take it home today it would pay for itself in a month or two, by the time you actually get one however who knows.

I've dropped the 5th card and 3rd PSU out of my mining rigs, whole lot simpler and tidier now if very slightly less profitable. So now it's 2 PC's with 2 cards each hashing at around 2700 - will continue as long as it's not losing money.
