Default iMac Magic Mouse not connecting...tried everything!!

    Hi All,

Sorry I need some advice again, the mouse has been playing up many times since I got this iMac, it just does not want to connect...
I have new batteries, have tried to turn off bluetooth and connect both devices again...
I have tried a piece of foil as suggested in american forums that the connections might not be connecting properly with the batteries...

I dunno...Am using my old mouse, the magic mouse is sitting right in front of me disconnected

    Make sure batteries are good.
    Make mouse favourite
    Try this.
Preferences>Bluetooth Preferences and clicked on the Magic Mouse in the left side of the window. Below that there is a cog, click that and select 'show more info'. The right side of the window will display more info about the mouse. Select the cog again and you should now have the opportunity to make it a favourite.

You have to be very careful putting the cover back on as it seems to affect it.
With the cover off, move the batteries around until you get the light on steady.
Carefully put the cover back on, if the light starts blinking, wriggle the batteries until the light goes steady and try again.
I have to do this several times to get a connection but when I do it is fine until I have to change batteries again.

Hi Safari, yes that seems to be the same thing I have to do but as soon as the Mac goes to sleep the connection is lost and takes ages to get it back, usually to turn the blue tooth off en re connect.
