Default Best Albums 2013 so far

Got into a discussion yesterday about Random Access Memories album by Daft Punk and it seems a lot of people love it and a lot of others are indifferent to it.

I'm not wild about it but it is ok - and hearing Julian Casablancas on the 5th track is worth a spin right there.

My albums of the year so far

    In Love - Peace
    180 - Palma Violets
Push The Sky Away - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
    Holy Fire - Foals

Just got the Savages album that is on a lot of lists - so that may be next on the top 5.

Off to Oz to see Babyshambles next week - if they turn up that is.
Drinking Central Otago Pinot Noir - but purely for medicinal purposes.

As I get older I find I get into less and less new music.
Only recent albums I have enjoyed are Halestorm Hello, It's Mz. Hyde & Nightwish Imaginaerum. Both from 2012, so for me best albums of 2013 so far is none of them. Most of my favourite groups have gotten so old they've stopped putting out albums or they've gone off in a direction that doesn't suit my tastes (Metallica is a case in point, I love everything up to the black album but really haven't gotten into anything since)

Also music is very much about personal taste so these kind of threads are largely pointless unless you happen to share tastes with the people responding. I won't be listening to the albums you listed for example

thank GOD not its not just me then...

Have we just heard it all over the years, and nothing new can stand up to our fav near perfect albums ?
Or just we have less patience & wont sit through a '4/5 star' or worse album, even once.

I've been struggling to find much good music at all this year...

Some of the last few years favourites were Kings of Leon, the Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, Cold War Kids, John Mayer, Von Voin Strum, Slash... anything someone could recommend after that list?
