    Awesome, on both counts.

Waste of time so far. Took a gazzillion goes to create an account and haven't been able to login properly since. Page just freezes and goes no where. Glad I haven't coughed up any cash yet.
I haven't spoken to my wife for 18 months - I just don't dare to interrupt her.

Yeah I managed to upload over 5GB worth on Saturday no worries. It's been inundated since launch, with over half a million sign-ups on the first day alone. Check out some stats he posted yesterday: https://twitter.com/KimDotcom

They're increasing capacity as quickly as they can, and they mentioned that last night too. Going to just have to give it a day or two for the launch excitement to die down a little methinks.

As to the legality, Dotcoms right, he shows that Google hosts a lot more copyright-infringing materials on YouTube, they just take stuff down day in and day out... As do the likes of Vimeo and many more. So why was he singled out?

Congrats on getting to go, would have been fantastic.

My understanding of why he was singled out was that he was encouraging users to upload copyright infringing materials in exchange for....something. Possibly money, can't remember, read the article ages ago.

While I agree the raids were complete overkill, I don't think Kim Dotcom is squeaky clean.

Yeah the theory was money, but his argument was he only provided that incentive on files under 100MB. Movies are larger, though you can zip / rar split a movie into smaller pieces. YouTube also does the same, allowing you to monetize your views. Most places do I believe?

Yeah, Rapidshare used to have a similar reward program, as do File Factory.

I think it was probably more to do with the fact he was going to start up a music site which was going to cut out the greedy music labels.

MusicBox is on it's way so they may try the same thing again.

I sort of miss those days

When you could buy a CD and when record companies made and promoted music and pop stars.
