I get review models. I test something like 2-3 phones a month, so generally I have way more phones to play with than could justify me buying one. Most manufacturers want them back. some don't - we have a stack of older phones in the Test Labs.

We would if we could. Unfortunately, because they are review models, they would become our responsibility for support and repair if we gave them away. We just don't have the resources to handle it. Our only real option would be to auction them, which avoids that responsibility, but getting money for them would be VERY unethical.

Also, the manufacturers -might- ask for them back at some point.

You could do $1 reserve auctions then give the profits to charity?

Just giving ideas, its not like I need a new phone

I like the idea, but managing auctions is more work than I really want to deal with, and then we'd be buggered if the manufacturer asked for the phone back. Realistically, we could only do it with phones that manufacturers explicitly say we could, and that never happens.

Yep cut-off is still tomorrow evening. Provided the money is in the bank when I wake up on Thursday we should be good to order

paulw / Zara, if you're keen, the offers still there. Of course, Zara, you could write it off as a business expense right?
