Default What a crock of ….

Making Gibberish an official language would have been a better choice.

That is what happens when you have an official language. I would not be surprised to see them insist that it all be repeated in sign language as well. There are a lot of court officials/translators making even more money out of this.

Dunno how you come up with this.

I know for a fact that all existing Court staff have to do this - there are no new court officials/translators involved.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree but I know that it is going to be funny watching staff that have been given no formal training butchering their way through these phrases.

An uneducated guess Tukupa. Not the first time I have been wrong and it probably will not be the last either I bow to your superior knowledge.

I do because it’s just another step along the way of the National Party’s policy of Separatism.

Even though English is spoken by the majority of New Zealanders Maori is an official language of New Zealand. I see nothing wrong with keeping the Maori laguage alive by having people learn the language. I am guessing that only a small minority of New Zealanders speak fluent Maori. I see nothing wrong with words of greeting being spoken in both Maori and English.

But isn't using both languages more like reverse separatism...?
