Talking Greasy Hair + Ear Wax = Corollary?

Just obeying my mother here - her rule was: "Everybody showers/bathes before bed".

I've always observed that law, even in my marriages and with MY kids. (First wife passed away in '92). So - I just had my evening shower, all squeaky clean and smelling fresh for bed after I watch some more Late Night With Dave Letterman.

But - here's an interesting observation ::: I notice that my ear wax production is a lot higher than 'normal' and my scalp is getting really oily overnight.

Thinking there MUST be a reason for such things - my big brain is sortta stumped on this: Is there a reason why they both seem to have ramped up their activity now?
    At my age? (66)
    For the warm weather?
Changes in my diet? (Too much ice cream - researching ice cream headaches?)
    I'm gonna die soon?
Anyone ever notice this same situation?

Hey look! - I try to be non-controversial and yet provocative at the same time. It's not easy - but I'm only one person here.

Ear wax (I am told by ear wax removal specialists) is actually sweat (concentrated).

My ear canals don't form a natural "downhill" channel like most people, so I get a build up of wax that has to be removed every six months or so.

However I haven't noticed any correlation between ear wax and oily hair...

But I guess if ear wax is sweat, then it's possible warmer weather has the same effect on the sebaceous glands on the top of your head...

Makes sense when you say it that way.

So-o-o-o-o --- I guess even at my age ---(wait for it)

When you get a little older you will learn to be glad of that ear wax. The hair in your ears is going to start growing a lot, both faster and thicker. Without the wax it would squeak and keep you awake at nights due to the fast growth.

    It's not sweat.
It's nothing to do with your hair.

    According to pctek's link,

"Fear, stress and anxiety result in increased production of earwax from the ceruminous glands."

So which do you have Joe, fear, stress or anxiety or all three

You asked me if I have fear, stress or anxiety and I say: "Wife, children, house, everything. The full catastrophe."
