Have you lost the manual for the BIOS?

You could always just make a 'beep' noise with your mouth at the appropriate time ...

My new computer doesn't beep on startup. The builders have either forgotten to connect the speaker or haven't turned it on in the bios. I'm actually not worried about it, just as long as it starts when I push the on button.

My Z68XP doesn't beep either. I wonder if it's related to Gigabyte's Quick Boot utility?

If I connect my monitor to integrated graphics (which is turned on in BIOS along with a separate graphics card) I don't even get a POST screen. Now that's disconcerting

    But it did BEEP before.

I know that (it seems) Gigabyte has this issue, as my other MB (also Gigabyte) has similar symptom.

    It boots OK.
    ah, so it was overclocked
I wouldnt loose sleep if lack of beep is the only issue & it runs OK

You are spot-on. It is indeed the Quick Boot. Disabled and it beeps normally now.

    Thanks
